The Caledonian Society of Sweden was formed by Gordon Elliott, Alan Logan, Dugald Murdoch, William Pardon and Brita Pardon in Stockholm on the 3rd of November 1975. The stated aims of the society were to celebrate Scotland and Scottish culture, to encourage an interest in Scotland and Scottish culture, to promote friendly relations between Sweden and Scotland, to further the learning and knowledge of Scottish arts and culture, and to arrange social gatherings in order to further these aims.
