What is Celtic Connections?

Celtic Connections is a world-renowned festival which showcases Celtic music and connections to cultures across the world. Each year, the festival takes place in Glasgow, a UNESCO City of Music, and features concerts, ceilidhs, workshops, book launches, talks, tours and more.

Born in 1994, the first festival offered 66 events at one venue. Today, Celtic Connections has expanded with traditional, folk, world and roots music showcased in up to 30 venues across the city. The 2025 edition captivated audiences across 10 genres including acoustic, indie, traditional, Americana, jazz, folk, world and orchestral with around 1,500 musicians performing at 300 events.

Celtic Connections is the perfect opportunity to experience first-hand the city’s vibrant music scene and cultural attractions through hundreds of events in locations across Glasgow.
