The University of Strathclyde has a thriving international community with around 30,000 students from more than 140 countries. For more than 200 years, Strathclyde has delivered academic excellence through world-class research and teaching, providing students with flexible, innovative learning in preparation for their careers.

Investment in the Strathclyde campus is due to reach £1 billion by 2025, with major recent projects including: the £60 million Learning & Teaching Building; the £31 million Strathclyde Sport Facility and the £75 million National Manufacturing Institute Scotland. 

Designed with students and staff in mind, the Learning and Teaching Building includes leading edge teaching facilities as well as being home to student support services and the Students’ Union.

External partners

Each of the four faculties – Engineering, Science, Strathclyde Business School and Humanities & Social Sciences – works closely with business, industry, government and policy-makers, supporting their enviable track record of making technologies and innovation applicable for the benefit of society. They offer a wide range of courses in all disciplines, which are held in high regard by employers.

Strathclyde was placed eighth in the UK in the Daily Mail University Guide 2025 and was named Scottish University of the Year in the previous year’s inaugural Guide. For 2025, Strathclyde was ranked first for Physics and subjects within Tourism, Transport and Travel, and was second for Forensic Science and French. The University was also rated fourth for research income, joint fourth for UCAS entry tariff points and 12th for graduate salaries.
